Angola's Development addressed in Botswana

Gaberone, ANGOLA, February 23 - Angola's current political development and strong anti-corruption and impunity measures have centered the meeting Botswana President Seretse Khama Ian Khama granted to the Angolan ambassador José Agostinho Neto on Friday in Gaborone.,

The Angolan ambassador to the Republic of Botswana bid his farewell to President Seretse Khama Ian Khama at the end of his 17-year diplomatic mission.

During the 45-minute meeting, the two interlocutors assessed the level of bilateral relations and concluded that efforts were needed to increase and diversify them, especially in the economic field.

The Angolan diplomat informed the head of State of the steps taken to improve the country's economic and financial situation, the challenges facing the Angolan government to build a more just society in which every citizen participates in strengthening democracy, enjoyment of welfare and social progress.

Cooperation between Angola and Botswana benefits from excellent political relations at the highest level, requiring strong commitments that create an atmosphere that enhances the institutional relationship of the public and private sectors.

According to the ambassador, it is in the economic domain that Angola should give more impetus, which necessarily means identifying the common development ways in the sectors of activity, which are by nature empowering economic added value and employment generators, such as agriculture, fisheries, industry and tourism.

José Agostinho Neto, born on October 17, 1938, was appointed as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary ambassador of Angola to Botswana in 2001 and has served in Tanzania and Republic of Congo Brazzaville.
